Fixing cheat-code paste and 3DS startup errors

We fixed two problems reported by email: only some cheat codes taking effect when pasted on one line, and 3DS games failing to start after deletion and reimport.

Open beta

A user emailed to say that only the first cheat code took effect after pasting. We found that when multiple lines of code were entered as one line, the app passed them straight to the engine without separating them.

In 1.11.2, multiple codes pasted on one line are read separately according to the system’s code format. They are saved one code per line, so reopening the cheats shows what the app read. Lines containing words that are not code stay as entered to avoid splitting them incorrectly.

Another user reported error 3 when trying to start a 3DS game after deleting it and importing the same file again. Deleting the game had removed its save data but left the record pointing to that data. The reimported game then tried to find save data that had already been deleted, preventing startup.

Once a game deletion is committed, its save records are now removed too. The records remain while deletion can still be undone. Other games’ records are left alone.

If this problem already prevents a game from starting, choose Open Save Recovery in the error alert. On the recovery screen, you can check the save state and choose what to do. Resetting the save record requires another confirmation on that screen.

Both problems have been fixed on iOS and Android. Work on 3DS performance continues separately.

How 3DS states survive an update

Integrating Azahar meant signing states per installation. We then separated state compatibility from the rest of the app so an app update alone would not close those states.

    Keep save data as files

Export saves for safekeeping or move them to another device without connecting Google Drive.
