N-EMU v1.4.0 update

Quick guide

On first launch, a guide shows how to import and run a game, then create and load a save state. Rewind, cheat, controller and backup guides can be replayed from Help. Fixed the Android pause menu staying open after a save.

Dates show when changes were integrated into the app and may differ from store release dates.

Integrated

  1. Getting-started guide

On first launch, the guide walks through importing and opening a game, then saving and loading a state in the pause menu. Corner brackets and a hand point at each control, and the guide advances when the action finishes. Skip ends it early. No games come with the app, so it waits in the library and continues when you first open a game. If games are already present, it asks once after the update whether to show the guide.

  2. Feature guides

How to use, at the top of About and help in Settings, replays five guides at any time. Besides Getting started there are guides for rewind and fast-forward, cheats and finding values, controller buttons, and backup. Guides that need a game start the next time you open one, and during a game the rewind and cheat guides start right away from How to use in the pause menu.

  3. Pause menu closes after saving

    Android

Fixed an Android issue where the pause menu stayed open after a save or load finished. It now closes as soon as it finishes.

A guide that points at what to press

First-time users had trouble finding where to import a game or save. In 1.4.0, a guide points to each control in turn so users can learn by doing.
