N-EMU v1.0.3 update

PSP fixes and landscape controls

Fixed PSP games running at double speed, broken audio, and incorrectly rendered characters. Landscape controls now overlay the game picture. Nintendo DS keeps its existing layout.

Dates show when changes were integrated into the app. These versions are pre-release development records.

Integrated

  1. PSP speed and audio

PSP games ran at double speed: 1x felt like 2x and 0.5x like 1x, and the audio broke up for the same reason. It was most obvious in games that run at 30 frames per second, such as Ys Seven. Android and iOS both.

  2. PSP characters no longer appear as shadows

Fixed characters appearing only as shadows or rendering incorrectly in Jeanne d'Arc. PSP graphics now use OpenGL ES 3 to support depth-buffer copying and other operations needed for 3D scenes. This applies to Android and iOS.

  3. Larger landscape picture and smaller controls

In landscape, the game has more room and the touch controls overlay the picture. The D-pad and buttons are about 25% smaller. Nintendo DS keeps its existing button size and layout beside the picture so the screen can be used for touch input. This applies to Android and iOS.

  4. Changing the speed no longer stalls

Changing the speed sometimes showed a progress notice and froze the picture. A speed change no longer waits behind saving or frame work. Android and iOS both.

  5. A connected keyboard hides the touch controls

Touch controls now hide when a keyboard is connected, as they already did with controllers. They remain visible while editing the button layout. To keep them visible at all times, turn off the setting for hiding touch controls when a controller or keyboard is connected. This applies to Android and iOS.

  6. The loading notice names the game

Starting any game said "Starting mGBA". It now names the game being started. Android and iOS both.
